About Us

Empress Fencing was established by Andrew Ireland in 1996 on the site of a previous sawmill. The business has grown to become one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of fencing materials and timber products in the Lancashire area, supplying agricultural, commercial and domestic customers.

Over the years Andrew has been joined by several family members and long-serving staff, who work together to provide the type of service you expect from a local business – a friendly welcome, good product knowledge and access to the staff in charge of your order.

The business expanded its site in 2000 and has slowly carried out building projects over the years in order to bring the machinery and buildings up to date. The newest addition to the site is a new office and shop, which has enabled us to increase our product range.

With the purchase of an adjoining wholesale business in 2019, Empress Fencing is now a trusted supplier of fencing boards to timber suppliers in and around the northwest. This has enabled us to expand our capabilities to cut more of our own timber and has also ensured a good continuity of supply for our own products, such as hardwood logs for sale.

We constantly aim to provide customers with a quality product which suits their individual needs. We strive to listen and use our extensive knowledge of the timber industry and our excellent supplier links in order to serve you to our best ability.
