Feather Edge Arched Top Gate Made to Order

A feather edge arched top gate is a solid gate built from tapered boards that overlap, set on horizontal backing rails. The curved top makes it softer to look at than a flat gate. We make it to order in rough sawn, pressure-treated softwood.

If your opening is a standard size, our feather edge gate range is available off the shelf. This made-to-order version is for openings that need a different width or height.

This gate has a clear front and back. The boarded face is the front, while the rails sit on the back. Decide which side faces the road before you order, because that also decides which way it opens.

When you measure, take the height of the fence at the gate post. You can then ask for the arch to rise just above it, or to sit level with the fence top.

Measure the opening at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest figure. Call us with the size, the height you want at the top of the arch and the hinge side. We will confirm everything before the gate is made. Made-to-order work takes longer than stock items, so ask about timing when you order.
