Omega Lattice Top Panel in Made-to-Order Heights

An omega lattice top panel combines a solid lower section with a curved band of open lattice along the top. The lattice lets light through and gives climbing plants somewhere to grip. We make this panel to order at 1.2m, 1.5m or 1.8m high, measured to the highest point, and always 1.8m wide.

The made-to-order heights are useful where a full-height panel would be too tall. For example, they suit the front of a house or the edge of a patio.

Choosing a Height for Your Omega Lattice Top Panel

The 1.8m height gives full privacy to a back garden, with the lattice above eye level. The 1.5m height works well beside a patio, where you want shelter when seated but still see over when standing. At 1.2m, the panel becomes a decorative low boundary for a front garden.

Because the top is curved, remember that the stated height is at the centre. The ends of each panel sit a little lower. That matters if you are lining the run up with a wall or a neighbour’s fence.

Pressure-Treated Softwood Construction

Each panel is made from pressure-treated softwood. The treatment protects the timber from rot and insects in wet weather, which is useful across East Lancashire. It can be left to weather to a soft silver, or stained once it has dried out.

The lattice section is lighter than the solid boards below it. However, it still needs to be fixed firmly to sturdy posts. A loose panel will rattle in wind and wear its fixings quickly.

Posts, Clips and Fixings

Use posts that match the panel height, plus enough length to set into the ground. Our range of timber posts covers the common sizes. Fix the panels with galvanised clips, and add an anti rattle clamp on exposed sites.

A matching gate is available, so the lattice line can carry on across a path or side passage. This keeps the boundary looking like one piece. When you order, tell us the gate width and which height of omega lattice top panel it needs to match.

Count how many panels your run needs by dividing its length by 1.8m and rounding up. Then call us with the number of panels, the height and any gates. We will confirm everything before the panels are made. Made-to-order work takes longer than stock items, so ask about timing when you order.
